Kakhovskaya HPP completely destroyed as a result of an explosion of the turbine hall from the inside and cannot be rebuilt

This was announced by the press service of Ukrhydroenerho.

According to the forecast of the company, which unites Ukraine's largest hydro and hydroelectric power plants, water from the Kakhovka reservoir will be released within the next four days.

Recall:

The Kakhovskaya hydropower plant was occupied on the second day of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It is the fifth largest plant in Ukraine with a capacity of 334.8 MW.

The head of Kherson regional council, Alexander Samoilenko, said in a televised marathon that the peak of flooding after the failure of the Kakhovska HPP dam is expected by 11:00 am.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine is working at full capacity. Sanitary and epidemiological services have risen because the water carries that mud that can affect people," he said.
