Idea contest announced in Japan: how to encourage young people to drink alcohol

The National Tax Administration of Japan has announced a contest of ideas "Sake Viva!" ("Long live sake").
Alcohol consumption has declined amid a declining population, lifestyle changes and the coronavirus pandemic, and tax revenues from this industry have decreased accordingly.
The competition will run until the beginning of September. Participants need to submit "new products and designs" as well as ways to encourage drinking at home. The Guardian writes about it.
The Japanese must send, before September 9, their proposals on how to popularize the use of alcoholic beverages.
The Japanese Ministry of Health is not cooperating with the National Taxation Agency on the contest, but hopes the contest will remind Japanese people of the correct amount of alcohol to drink. Also, the ministry is in contact with the tax agency about maintaining health in general.
The National Revenue Agency has grafted statistics on the reduction in alcohol consumption.
Alcohol consumption in Japan per year has fallen from 100 liters per person in 1995 to 75 liters in 2020. In 1980, tax revenues from the sale of alcohol accounted for 5% of the total, in 2011 - 3%, and in 2020 - 1.7%.
