Raped and murdered a pensioner: a perpetrator punished in Kyiv region

A man who raped a 68-year-old woman and then beat her to death has been sentenced in Kyiv Region. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
This was reported by the Obukhov Chronicle portal.
The Obukhov district prosecutor's office proved the involvement of a local resident in the crime. The court found him guilty of rape and inflicting grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of the victim (Part 5, Article 152, Part 2, Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Prosecutors proved in the court that in late September 2021 the 33 year old man was repairing the house of the 68 year old woman. During the discussion of work issues a verbal conflict arose between them during which the convict hit the woman in the face and raped her. After that he inflicted more than 35 punches and kicks on the victim, from which the latter died," reads the statement.
The accused will remain in pre-trial detention facility until the sentence comes into force.
