In the Lviv region found fragments of buildings that are more than 5500 years old

In Vinniki, Lviv region, they found the remains of a defensive structure built more than 3500 years before our era.
This is reported by the Lviv Regional Council.
Elements of the found structures are one of the oldest settlements of the Eneolithic era on the territory of Ukraine.
We see the remains of a wooden wall. First, a ditch 30 cm wide was dug. It was dug very evenly, which indicates the presence of special tools even then. The logs in this ditch are driven in next to each other. And outside the palisade was plastered with clay, which compacted the fence. We can conclude that it was a strong, impregnable fence about three meters high, - says archaeologist and employee of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Andriy Gavinsky.
Experts plan to excavate further to find the second part of the palisade, which, in their opinion, is nearby.
Almost every year we find new sights of the past of our region. This indicates that our ancestors, who lived on these lands thousands of years ago, erected two-story buildings, made fabrics, and ceramics. So far, we have managed to explore about 40 percent of the monuments that hide the Vinnikovsky mountains, - says Igor Timets, director of the Local History Museum of the Lviv Regional Council.
The Lviv Regional Council does not rule out that the area near the village of Vinniki may become a popular tourist attraction thanks to the finds of archaeologists.
