The regime of passage in the north of Crimea "is equal to the regime of passage through the state border of the Russian Federation".
The so-called "head" of Crimea, Serhiy Aksyonov, has ordered the introduction of a "special regime" for crossing the administrative border with the part of the Kherson Region of Ukraine temporarily occupied by Russia. This is reported by Radio Liberty.
According to this decree, the regime of crossing in the north of Crimea "is equated to the regime of crossing the state border of the Russian Federation".
Automobile checkpoints "Armyansk", "Perekop", "Dzhankoy", railway checkpoints "Armyansk" and "Dzhankoy" are defined as places of crossing the administrative border between Crimea and Kherson region.
Establish that crossing the administrative border between the Republic of Crimea and the Kherson region is carried out in the presence of: foreign citizens or stateless persons - a valid identity document and recognised in accordance with international treaties of the Russian Federation in this capacity, - said in the decree of the occupiers.
Also, according to the decree, military convoys of the Russian Federation will move along specially designated roads in coordination with the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.
Part of the Kherson region of Ukraine was occupied by Russian troops at the very beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022.
The AFU liberated the right-bank part of the Kherson region, including Kherson, in 2022. The left-bank part of the region is temporarily occupied.
