State Border Service: border guard sailors over the sea shot down a missile


On the night of 30 August, naval personnel from the Odessa detachment of the State Border Service shot down a Russian cruise missile over the Black Sea

Tonight night servicemen of the Odessa detachment of marine protection detachment recorded a deadly strategic missile, probably X-101, while performing the task of missile defence, - stated in the message.
It was noted that the sailors-border guards opened fire from the available weapons on the missile, it exploded over the sea.
Forreference: the Kh-101 is a strategic cruise missile of the "air-to-ground" class. It is one of the latest Russian developments, the missile is designed using radar signature reduction technologies.
According to various reports, the range is between 3,000 and 5,500 kilometres.
A similar missile can carry a thermonuclear warhead, in such a variant it is called Kh-102.
