The head of the Zaporozhye Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Starukh called on the residents of the region to leave the war zone, and those who have already found temporary housing in other regions to stay there. He said this in an interview with Ukrinform .

There are settlements where 80% of the inhabitants have left. There are those from which people left, and now some are already returning. There are changes in people's minds. People were afraid of the first shelling, but now they are used to it,” he said.

He also stressed that the fighting continues and to remain in the region means risking your life and the lives of loved ones.

For us, it is a priority to save people's lives. If there is life and health, then everything can be rebuilt. If there is neither life nor health, then nothing will have to be rebuilt. Therefore, we strive to save people,” he said.

It should be noted that Russian troops temporarily occupied about 60% of the territory of the Zaporozhye region, and hostilities continue on part of the territory. In the occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, the invaders intend to hold so-called "referendums" for joining Russia.
