It is known that in the mid 80's this man served a conscript service in the Navy of the USSR.

The former mayor of the Russian city of Vladivostok, Oleh Humenyuk, has gone to the front to kill Ukrainians. In this way, he decided to avoid punishment in a case for corruption, in which he was sent to jail for 16.5 years.

A photo of the 56-year-old ex-official in military uniform and with a machine gun in his hands in the uniform of the Russian Armed Forces appeared in Russian publicks.

Alexander Kitaev, Gumenyuk's lawyer, said that according to the issued order, the official jailed for corruption, had to report to the military unit on 22 December (2023).

As far as I understand, he must first undergo training at one of the training grounds," the lawyer said.

The court found Gumenyuk guilty of bribery in the amount of 38 million rubles. The former official was sentenced to 16.5 years in a strict regime colony, but on appeal the punishment was reduced to 12 years in the case of taking a bribe (from the funeral municipal enterprise "Necropolis") on a particularly large scale (part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Gumenyuk did not admit his guilt. For several months he was in penal colony No. 27, located in the village of Volchanets in Primorsky Krai. From there he asked to go to the front in order not to sit in prison.

Gumenyuk held the post of mayor of Vladivostok from April 2019 to May 2021.

We will add that Gumenyuk is the fourth head of Vladivostok, who was sentenced to imprisonment.
