Estonia closes border crossing with Russia as unnecessary

The point is closed due to a sharp decrease in the number of travelers.
This is reported by the publication ERR .
Estonia is closing the Narva-2 border crossing point with Russia as the number of travelers has dropped sharply. And in Estonia, they decided that it was not advisable to keep this item open.
Adviser to the Minister of the Interior, Vootele Päi, said:
After careful analysis, the Ministry of the Interior has indeed taken the decision to close the pedestrian bridge connecting Narva and Ivangorod. Although not for security reasons - as we mentioned earlier, this bridge does not pose any security threat, because only people who have a residence permit in Estonia and Estonian citizens move on it.
As you know, on September 19, a ban on entry into Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland of Russian citizens with Schengen visas came into force. The ban applies to Russian citizens with valid Schengen visas whose purpose of travel is tourism, business, participation in sporting events and transit. However, there are exceptions.
