China's strategy includes saturation tactics, where multiple missiles are launched at a single target to overcome its defences.

Beijing is actively building up its military capabilities ahead of a possible conflict with Taiwan and the United States. China has built up a large-scale arsenal of ballistic missiles designed to strike US naval forces in the Pacific Ocean. This is indicated by military analyst Caleb Larson, reports the American edition of 19fortyfive,

According to the analyst, the centrepiece of China's strategy is the creation of the so-called A2/AD zone - a "no-go zone", which should exclude the presence of the US fleet near Chinese borders.

The main tool of this doctrine is high-precision anti-ship ballistic missiles capable of paralysing the actions of US aircraft carrier strike groups, Larson points out.

The expert emphasises that China's large-scale missile shield is already exerting serious strategic pressure on Washington, forcing the Pentagon to consider the risks and refrain from taking drastic steps in the Asia-Pacific region.

As Larson emphasises, Beijing is not so much seeking the guaranteed destruction of specific targets, such as aircraft carriers or US naval bases, but rather a threat that Washington cannot ignore.

A massive salvo of Chinese missiles, even if only a fraction reaches its target, is capable of inflicting critical damage - and that is the main calculation of Chinese strategy," the expert said.

He notes that special emphasis is placed on the development and deployment of anti-ship ballistic missiles capable of penetrating the hull of an aircraft carrier due to a powerful kinetic warhead that detonates inside the vessel and disables it. Chinese military engineers have also worked extensively on means of overcoming shipboard air defences, making these missiles particularly dangerous to US carrier strike groups.

As part of its offensive strategy, China actively uses the tactic of missile saturation - the simultaneous launch of multiple projectiles at a single target, designed to break through even the most advanced enemy air defence system. This approach dramatically increases the likelihood of hitting key targets, including aircraft carriers and U.S. land bases," Larson said.

The versatility of China's missile arsenal is a particular threat: many of these systems are capable of equally effective strikes against both mobile maritime targets and fixed military infrastructure.

China's strategy clearly follows the doctrine of using advanced technology to create a combat environment in which any Western intervention would have unacceptable military and political costs," Larson emphasises.
