Cabinet to allocate 1.65bn for school course "Defence of Ukraine"


Ukraine is living in a full-scale invasion where technology plays an important role, so children should be able to work with it from school.
The Cabinet of Ministers will allocate 1.65bn hryvnyas for the purchase of modern equipment for the updated school course "Defence of Ukraine". This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Innovations, Development of Education, Science and Technology Mykhaylo Fedorov on 15 July.
Drone control, training ranges and tacmed - the government allocates UAH 1.65 billion for the purchase of modern equipment for the updated course "Defence of Ukraine", - said Fedorov.
According to him, Defence of Ukraine training centres will be established in cities. One centre will be for 5-10 schools or for a community. A well-equipped centre will mean that children from different schools will have equal access to quality equipment and comfortable premises.
Modern equipment will be purchased for the centres through Prozorro Market, in particular:
- interactive laser shooting simulators;
- drone control simulations, which include a drone, interactive glasses, a remote control and other equipment;
- training ranges and models;
- first aid kits and cardiac resuscitation simulators, defibrillator simulator, and tourniquets;

He reminded that now the approach to teaching the course "Defence of Ukraine" in 10-11 grades is being comprehensively updated. Earlier it was "Defence of the Fatherland", "Pre-conscription training".
In parallel with the purchase of modern equipment are trained trainers who will prepare teachers.
Earlier Socialportal reported that Lithuania will no longer pay for the education of refugees from Ukraine. However, there will remain several educational institutions where Ukrainians will be able to study for free.
