A road accident with a Ukrainian bus has occurred in France: there are dead and injured children.
A major road accident involving a Ukrainian bus has occurred in France. At least four people died as a result of the accident, among the injured there are children. This was reported by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and Le Monde.
The accident occurred on 13 June near the city of Le Mans on the Rennes-Le Mans highway.
The accident involved a passenger bus with Ukrainian registration. Representatives of the Embassy and the Ukrainian ambassador personally went to the scene of the accident," the Foreign Ministry said.
According to preliminary information, the bus was carrying Ukrainian citizens, including a group of children.
As a result of the accident, four people were killed and at least 30 others were injured. The condition of 11 injured is assessed as serious.
The injured have been taken to hospitals. Traffic on the A81 motorway has been temporarily suspended. Emergency services are working on the site," the ministry added.
According to French media, about 87 firefighters and 49 units of equipment arrived at the scene. The circumstances of the accident and the exact number of participants in the accident are being clarified.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga instructed the Consular Service Department and the Ukrainian Embassy in France to keep the situation under special control and provide the necessary assistance to the injured Ukrainian citizens.
