Budanov says why Crimea must be returned by force

States that wanted to seize Crimea have always succeeded in doing so, the head of the Ukrainian intelligence service stressed.
The head of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's intelligence agency, Kyrylo Budanov, has said that it will be much easier to retake Crimea than the eastern regions, Forbes has reported.
In particular, the head of the GUR pointed out that the peninsula has quite vulnerable territories due to the complexity of defence of which Crimea has been repeatedly seized.
Fortress Crimea is a myth," he said.
Budanov stressed that the states wishing to seize Crimea have always succeeded in doing so because "they did not hold the isthmuses, and everything was destroyed at once".
The head of the intelligence service explained that the island could be wrested from the Russian invaders by destroying communications from the Russian side and exerting pressure from mainland Ukraine.
And then that's it - Crimea will be isolated," Budanov stressed.
He also drew attention to the fact that in the case of Donbass the front is 1000 kilometres long and more than 200 kilometres deep, while the situation with Crimea is different.
When I say that we are going to enter Crimea, we are already there," the head of the GUR assured.
