Borrell indicated that Putin is preparing for a protracted war

Russia's aggression against Ukraine "shows no real interest in peace."
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel called the demands of Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin unacceptable, recalling that he does not really have any interest in peace. Borrel wrote about this in social network X.
Russia's aggression against Ukraine shows no real interest in peace," he pointed out.
In his view, Putin's unacceptable demands only seek to legitimise the invasion and undermine peace efforts, while Russia is rearming and preparing for a long war.
An aggressor cannot dictate the terms of a ceasefire," Borrel emphasised.
Borrel recalled that the terms of peace are set out in the UN Charter and the General Assembly resolution "on comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine", which was supported by 141 countries.
We would like to point out that Putin voiced his "conditions" for ending the war against Ukraine before the peace summit in Switzerland, to which Russia was not invited. He said that in order to end hostilities, Ukraine should "withdraw its troops" from the territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions within their administrative borders. He also demanded that Ukraine refuse to join NATO.
