Boxing associations from other countries are also considering the option of withdrawing from the World Championships.

It is reported by The Washington Post.

According to journalists, the US Boxing Association has announced a boycott of this spring's world championships due to the fact that the head of the International Boxing Association is a Russian, Umar Kremlev.

Kremlev has been the subject of numerous criticisms, including financial irregularities, refereeing problems and attempts to combine amateur and professional boxing.

USA Boxing chief executive Mike McAtee said associations from other countries are also considering withdrawing from the upcoming world championships, saying his association's boxers "100% support such a decision" because "they want to play fair".

While the sporting world bans athletes from Russia and Belarus, Umar Kremlev not only allows boxers from those countries to compete but also allows them to use their own flag and anthem.
