Syrsky: The fighting for Bakhmut has reached its highest level of tension

Yesterday, 5 March, the commander of the Ground Forces, Colonel General Aleksandr Syrsky, once again visited the units defending Bakhmut and the approaches to the city.
This was reported by the Defence Ministry.
According to him, the fighting for Bakhmut has reached the highest level of tension.
The enemy has thrown additional Wagner forces into the fight. Our soldiers are courageously defending positions in the north of Bakhmut, trying to prevent the city from being encircled, - Oleksandr Syrskyy noted.
As the commander noted, resistance by the Ukrainian army at this bridgehead has been ongoing for several months. And all this time the enemy's attempts to seize the city have been defeated by the fortitude of our soldiers. Ukrainian defenders have inflicted significant damage on the enemy, destroyed a large amount of equipment, forced the best Wagner assault units into battle and reduced the enemy's offensive potential.
