Zelensky: Ukraine has hijacked Russia's plan to destroy the political situation in Moldova

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a special meeting of the European Council on 9 February:

I recently spoke to Moldovan President Maia Sandu and informed her of what our intelligence managed to intercept: a detailed Russian plan of the political situation in Moldova. A Russian document showing who is going to break Moldova, the democratic order of that country and establish control over it, when and as a result of what actions.

Zelensky added:

But we saw what they are going to do, and we recognised in it exactly what they (Russians - ed.) have already tried to do against Ukraine and against other states, particularly in Europe. Nothing new.

The president of Ukraine did not say whether Moscow had given orders to act on this plan against Moldova.
