Zelensky: the occupiers have mined the dam of the Kakhovska hydroelectric power plant

President Volodymyr Zelensky says that the occupiers have mined the dam and units of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.

This is stated in the President's address to the European Council.

The Russians are shelling Ukrainian cities, killing civilians and destroying energy infrastructure.

More than a third of our energy infrastructure has been destroyed by attacks by Russian cruise missiles and Iranian attack drones. Because of this, unfortunately we are no longer able to export electricity to help you stay stable. However, this is only part of the problem. Russia also provokes a new wave of migration of Ukrainians to the EU countries. Russian terror against our energy facilities is aimed at creating as many problems with electricity and heat as possible for Ukraine this autumn and winter, and so that as many Ukrainians as possible leave for your countries,” Zelensky said.

Zelensky said that the invaders mined the dam and units of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. In the event of a tragedy, more than 80 settlements will be flooded, hundreds of thousands of people may suffer.
