Based on open data, Roman Shraik formed his own picture of what is happening at the front now.

As Roman Shraik writes , in the Kherson direction , in recent weeks there has been a push-pull around several settlements. The initiative is on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - the enemy has insufficient forces there to carry out an offensive, and is on the defensive.

But progress is rather slow.

There are some successes, but they are extremely restrained – accordingly, optimism regarding our actions in this direction should also be extremely restrained for the time being. Fortunately, we have a sufficient window of initiative and it will not disappear,” he writes.

In the Zaporizhia direction , the situation is similar to that in Kherson: there is an initiative, but no progress. There are advances of local significance, but all within a few kilometers.

At the borders in the areas of Ugledar, Marinka and Avdiivka , parity is maintained. Here the enemy continued to attempt an offensive until recently, but could not achieve the set result and reduced the priority of the direction, transferring troops from it to strengthen the grouping in the Lisichansk area.

The enemy continues to suffer significant losses in this direction.

The enemy has managed, so far, to maintain an offensive potential on the Lisichansk ledge. His successes are limited - he managed to create a threat to the grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of Lysichansk, but did not manage to form an encirclement.

An extremely difficult situation is observed in Severodonetsk . But not as terrible as in Mariupol. The city has a rear in the form of Lisichansk, which in turn is connected with a deep rear through Seversk.

The Barvinka direction for the enemy ceased to be a priority after not very successful attempts to advance. Push-pull continues in the Dmitrovka area, but the main fighting near Izyum unfolded, as I wrote above, on the road to Slavyansk, writes Shrike

The general situation suggests that the Russian leadership cannot end the war with a final victory, therefore it is trying to starve Ukraine out - to achieve a political goal in the form of the "territorial integrity" of the LDNR. The Ukrainian leadership did not intend, and is not going to agree to any truces and agreements. Accordingly, the intensity of the conflict will change as a result of the exhaustion / regrouping of the parties, but it will not leave the "active phase".

The "conflict" window is a calendar year under current conditions.
