New norms of the language law have been introduced in Ukraine


The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy noted that from now on, Ukrainians will see more requests in the state language in the Google search engine.
In Ukraine, on July 16, new norms of the language law came into force. Now the Ukrainian language should become the language of Internet resources and computer programs. The press service of the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language recalls this.
Also, starting today, the state language should be used in advertising, medicine, transport, education and science, culture, office work and workflow.
From now on, Ukrainians will see more requests in the state language in the Google search engine, the press service reported.
They stressed that from today on all Internet resources (including social networks) operating on the territory of our country, a Ukrainian-language version should appear. It should load immediately when you go to the page.
The Ukrainian version may exist along with other language versions of the site, but contain no less content.
Any product on which the application is installed must be with the Ukrainian interface.
The penalties for violating the new rules are:
- 3400-8500 hryvnia for a violation committed for the first time;
- 8500-11900 hryvnia for repeated violation.
Citizens were urged to rebuild Google into Ukrainian and search for news in the state language.
