In Ukraine, they told how often they will rewrite the population

The All-Ukrainian population census will be carried out at least once every 10 years, according to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

He said that the corresponding bill No. 5108 was supported by 249 parliamentarians in the first reading.

The census will be carried out using modern methods - Ukrainians will fill in the data on the Internet, - he said.

According to him, this will help the state to receive objective statistical information about the socio-demographic state of the country's population.

So we will be able to better assess the state reforms carried out in the past, predict the socio-economic development of the country and make adjustments in those areas of state policy where necessary , - Taras Melnychuk, representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, commented on the law.

According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the estimated actual population of Ukraine as of January 1, 2022 was 41,167,336 people, which is 421.0 thousand people less than the same indicator of the previous year.

We add that by June 1, 2022, according to the UN, 7 million Ukrainian refugees left the territory of Ukraine and were forced to flee to the countries closest to the west of Ukraine, more than 3.7 million Ukrainian refugees fled to Poland.
