The CIA created a video to recruit Russians (video)

The video "Why I contacted the CIA: For My Own Sake" is intended to persuade Russians who have access to important information to co-operate with the US intelligence agency. The video is published on the Central Intelligence Agency's YouTube channel.

The video shows a fictional Russian who has made the difficult but important decision to tacitly contact the CIA through the anonymous Tor information system.

The CIA wants to know the truth about Russia, and we are looking for reliable people who know and can tell us that truth. Your information may be more valuable than you think, the video's caption reads.

The CIA emphasises that they appreciate and respect people who are willing to communicate with them.

Are you a military officer? Do you work in intelligence, diplomacy, science, high tech or deal with people who do? Do you have information about the economy or the top leadership of the Russian Federation? Contact us. Perhaps people around you do not want to hear the truth. We do, the CIA said in a statement.

It is emphasised that the professional duty of the US intelligence service is to protect all those who work with the CIA around the world.
