A man who killed a taxi driver and burned his body was buried as a hero in Sevastopol

Roman Aleksandtsev, who fought as a member of the Wagner PMC in Ukraine and was killed near Bakhmut, Donetsk Region, has been buried in Sevastopol in temporarily occupied Crimea. The criminal was buried as a hero and his death was reported by Sevastopol "governor" Mikhail Razvozzhayev, Crimea Realii has said .

Aleksantsev is known to have killed 59-year-old Sevastopol taxi driver Yuri Shteymets in 2017, taking his money and burning his body.

As previously reported by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Shteymets went missing on 2 August 2017. A few days later, law enforcers found the burnt car with the man's body in the boot in the forest. It was later revealed that Aleksantsev killed him.

The drunken passenger, in order to get money for another dose of drugs, decided to kill the driver. The intruder stabbed the taxi driver several times in the chest area, from the wounds the victim died on the spot. He stole 120 thousand rubles from the deceased, - investigators reported.

As a result, the killer in 2018 was sentenced to 22 years in prison. However, in the colony, he was recruited to the Wagner PMC and went to the front to kill Ukrainians.

Note that calling criminals as such in Russia may now become dangerous. In January, Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder of the Wagner PMC, proposed to introduce criminal penalties for "discrediting volunteers", including publicly talking about their past offences. The day before, the amendments proposed by Prigozhin were passed by the State Duma in the second reading.

Earlier, US Attorney-General Merrick Garland called the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, a war criminal.
