The Ministry of Internal Affairs called the true goal of the war between Russia and Ukraine

The Russians' key target is not the Donbass.
The key goal of the occupiers in Ukraine is Odessa and full control over the Black Sea. This was stated in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Vadim Denisenko.
According to him, the Donbass is not at all within the prerogative of the Kremlin.
As of now, their minimum plan is simply the annexation of the Kherson region, the maximum plan is, if possible, then develop an offensive on Nikolaev and further on Odessa. Because the key goal of this war is not really the Donbass, but it is definitely Odessa and complete control over the Black Sea,” he said.
According to Denisenko, if the Russians succeed in capturing Odessa, they are returning to the early 20th century, when the Soviet Union controlled most of the Black Sea and was the dominant power in its waters.
This is their hundred-year-old doctrine,” said the adviser to the minister.
He also drew attention to the fact that the enemy has not yet been able to implement the plans.
The situation is such that we have partially cut off the supply system between parts of the Russian army groupings in southern Ukraine. So far, they cannot do much in this direction. They are digging in and preparing for the annexation of this territory, Denisenko sums up.
Earlier, US intelligence, commenting on the situation in southern Ukraine, noted that Russia does not have enough forces to fully control the occupied territory of the Kherson region.
According to CNN officials interviewed, the diversion of part of the Russian troops from the Kherson to the Donbas direction created a window of opportunity for partisans to attack collaborators, and for Ukrainian forces – time for a counteroffensive.
