Minsk says how many Belarusians may be sent to war

The population of Belarus, according to the latest figures, is about 9.3 million people.
Lukashenko does not exclude the possibility of getting involved in the war. Minsk has already calculated that 1.5 million people will mobilize to the army, if it decides to officially take the side of the Kremlin, said the Secretary of State of the Security Council of Belarus, Alexander Volfovich, reports pro-government BELTA.
He also noted that Minsk will begin to gather the army in case if Belarus "goes on the war footing.
He said that the mobilization will be held in "units of the people's militia," while the responsibility for their formation will be entrusted to local authorities. At the same time, the territorial authorities of the Belarusian Interior Ministry will lead these so-called "units.
According to Wolfowitz, this structure will provide law enforcement agencies with "assistance" in the field to perform "public order tasks" and other tasks in accordance with the martial law.
According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies in 2022, the country's professional army has about 48,000 soldiers and about 12,000 border guards.
