Zakharova reacted to the inclusion of Ukrainian borscht in the UNESCO list.

The head of the Latvian Foreign Ministry, Edgars Rinkevics, laughed at the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, who did not like the fact that borscht was recognized as Ukrainian and was included in the UNESCO heritage list. To do this, he used the phrase that Putin had previously said about Zelensky.

Recall that on February 7, before a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin mockingly turned to Zelensky about the implementation of the Minsk agreements to resolve the conflict in Donbass.

In Kyiv, they either say that they will comply (Minsk agreements. - Ed.), then they say that this will destroy their country. And the current president (of Ukraine. - Ed.) recently stated that he does not like a single point from these Minsk agreements "Well, if you like it, if you don't like it - be patient, my beauty. (Russian: "I like it, don't like it - be patient, my beauty ". - Ed.). It must be done. Otherwise, nothing," he said.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the inclusion of Ukrainian borscht in the UNESCO list of intangible values. In her telegram channel , she doubted that this dish needs immediate protection. Zakharova criticized the move, behind which she again saw nationalists "hating everything Russian."

What's next? Recognition of pork as Ukrainian national product? - said the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Zakharova also stated that, according to the travel notes of the Danzig merchant M. Gruneweg in 1584-1585, borscht was a dish of the Russian inhabitants of Kyiv.
