The history of the Kyiv Children's Railway begins in 1953. Initially, a narrow-gauge loop was laid with a length of 1.9 km and stations were built. The first train on this road passed on August 2, 1953, on the Railwayman's Day.

A large-scale reconstruction of the Kyiv Children's Railway was carried out in the spring of 2019. Then the specialists of the South-Western Railway decided to improve the ChRW by implementing several large-scale projects. The most interesting was the station. The real "Kyiv-Passenger", only in a reduced, children's copy. Inside there were rooms for the duty officer, cash desks, an announcer's room, administration, a museum of the history of the South-Western Railway, and not only.
Now the length of the KDZhD is 3.7 kilometers. Safe pedestrian crossings, a railway crossing with real signaling, a playground, and more have been built at several sites.
The control of the train, the symbols on the tracks, the system of the ticket halls and everything else is exactly like on a real railway, only a little smaller, and this is usually controlled by children undergoing training.
There is a children's railway in Kyiv, at the address. Parkovo-Syretskaya, 4. On the territory of the Syretsky park. Near the city hospital number 9 and polyclinic number 3. You can get there by metro. The nearest stations are Dorohozhychi and Beresteyskaya. There are also trolleybuses No. 22, 27, 30, 19 and trams No. 14 and 15.
