In Kyiv will make changes to the road infrastructure

In Kyiv, the number of ground crossings for pedestrians will be increased. It is reported by the Kiev City Council.
Thus, the city authorities are striving to ensure the physical barrier-free transport infrastructure of Kyiv, the report says.
The Kyiv City State Administration noted that during the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war, the issue of creating a barrier-free environment in the city becomes even more relevant, since military personnel who have received disability or limb injuries as a result of injuries are returning to the capital from the front line.
The report says that the city also plans to modernize intersections and repair traffic lights.
It is necessary to provide all residents with equal access to transport, administrative buildings and other urban facilities. The city authorities are adopting European experience and introducing a modern approach to planning the capital, - said the deputy of the Kyiv Council Ksenia Semenova.
Note that 80% of disabled people in Ukraine are people of working age. In Ukraine, more than 2.8 million people have the status of a disabled person, which is 6.1% of the total population.
The most common diseases that lead to disability are diseases of the circulatory system (24.4%), neoplasms (20%), diseases of the musculoskeletal system (11.1%), eye diseases (3.7%), endocrine diseases, eating disorders and metabolic disorders (4.2%).
At the same time, according to unofficial estimates, 15% of the population of Ukraine have some degree of disability.
Recall that the Cabinet of Ministers has simplified the procedure for crossing the border for certain categories of people with disabilities and those accompanying them, and also strengthened control over the departure of children from vulnerable categories.
