A man mobilised in Poltava spontaneously left the service and hid in Kharkiv. There he spread provocative videos calling on the police to detain him.

This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.

DBI officers have located and detained a serviceman who abandoned his fellow soldiers and fled from the location of the military unit," the statement said.

It is noted that the man was mobilised into the army. He was serving in Poltava, however, soon the military decided to leave the location of the unit unauthorisedly.

The man was hiding in Kharkiv and tried in every possible way to discredit the law enforcers who were looking for him. For this purpose, the man published videos with provocative statements on social networks," the SBI said.

In particular, in his social networks, the man said that he was hiding in Kharkiv and "offered the bureau to catch him".

The serviceman was detained and reported on suspicion of unauthorised departure from a military unit under martial law (part 5 of Article 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces up to 10 years of imprisonment.

Earlier Socialportal reported that in Krivoy Rog law enforcers detained a 19-year-old arms dealer. The offender was caught red-handed.
