Britain prepares to fight in Europe - Sky News

Earlier, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned the British that they need to "prepare for a long war."
Britain must be ready for war in Europe in order to "defeat the forces of Vladimir Putin," the head of the British army said, speaking to the troops of the Kingdom, reports Sky News.
In particular, General Patrick Sanders, who on Monday replaced Mark Carleton Smith as Chief of the British General Staff, warned soldiers of the challenges they face amid the war in Ukraine.
There is an urgent imperative to create an army capable of fighting alongside our allies and defeating Russia in battle, the general said.
The head of the army said he was "the first chief of the general staff since 1941 to take command of an army in the shadow of a land war in Europe involving a continental state."
Russia's invasion of Ukraine underscores our primary goal of protecting the United Kingdom by being ready to fight and win wars on land, the general said.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, during a previously unannounced visit to Kyiv, offered Volodymyr Zelensky a training program for the Ukrainian military on British soil. At the same time, the British prime minister specified that the military of the United Kingdom could provide training for up to 10,000 Ukrainian troops every 120 days.
Ukrainian troops are expected to train outside the UK for three weeks, learning combat skills, as well as medical training, demining and cybersecurity.
It should be noted that Great Britain is one of the largest donors of military aid to Ukraine.
