You can adopt a child in Ukraine through a mobile application

Adoption of a child in Ukraine has been simplified - in the Diya application from Wednesday, June 1, the "adoption" button appeared. You can now apply online for an adoption consultation. Later, the functionality will be expanded, said Darya Gerasimchuk, Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights and Children's Rehabilitation, on the air of the Snіdanok z 1 + 1 program.

In a few months, starting from today, more and more functionality will appear, and all documents will be able to be submitted - later, not today - today only an application for an initial consultation can be submitted through Dia, - the interlocutor noted.

According to her, later through the application it will be possible to submit a package of documents for a candidate for adoptive parents, guardians, parents-educators of a foster family or a family-type orphanage, as well as get acquainted with the profiles of children.

According to officials, today in Ukraine there are 17,000 children awaiting adoption. The number of people who are ready to take a child into the family is much smaller. This is due, in particular, to the complexity and length of the adoption procedure.

Ruslan Kolbasa, General Director of the Directorate for the Development of Social Services and Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, said that each stage of the adoption process will be recorded, which will make it as efficient and transparent as possible.

As of yesterday, more than 200 applications were received from those wishing to adopt a child through this application, about 300 applications were still being processed. I am sure that every day the number of applicants will grow, - said the representative of the Ministry of Social Policy.

In turn, according to the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine MarynaLazebna , now the initial consultation on adoption can be obtained both during a personal appointment and online. Based on the results of the consultation, a person will be able to either be convinced of his desire and ability to be an adoptive parent, or choose another form of family education, or conclude that his decision is premature, which will protect the child from traumatization due to the cancellation of adoption.
