- Ukraine plans to evacuate drivers stuck in Poland

Ukrainian drivers in sub-zero temperatures are suffering from the actions of several people who have blocked the border.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure has initiated the setting up of a monitoring group by the EU on the border with Ukraine. It is planned to evacuate drivers from Poland. This was announced by Deputy Infrastructure Minister Serhiy Derkach.
The creation of a monitoring group from the European Union on the border is initiated.
We propose to our European colleagues to officially record the situation that occurs in front of checkpoints. Whether dangerous goods are allowed through, how humanitarian aid crosses the border, and most importantly - in what conditions our drivers have been for more than two weeks. We have sent an official letter with such a proposal. We are waiting for a response," wrote Sergei Derkach.
He said that the ministry had started collecting data for the evacuation of our drivers.
We have already run out of time to agree on compromises. Now our drivers in sub-zero temperatures suffer from the actions of several people who blocked the border with the consent of local authorities. We have raised the issue several times at the working and official levels regarding food, ambulances, fire engines, proper sanitary conditions - all of this is missing. At the same time, we see reports about the approval of the continuation of the protest by the local authorities," the deputy minister said.
Serhiy Derkach said that Ukraine will evacuate anyone who expresses such a desire. The form to fill out about the evacuation is at the link.
Over the past three weeks, the issue of the blockade was raised at all possible levels, dozens of letters, meetings. We have proposed a number of compromises, the Polish government and the European Commission know them. But it is possible to agree on something only when there is a desire to negotiate, and not only a desire to block the border, - Serhiy Derkach explained.
We shall remind you that on 6 November, Polish carriers went on strike at the Polish-Ukrainian border, demanding to abolish the "transport corridor" for Ukraine. Thousands of lorries were stuck at the border.
