Ukraine may lose significant territories by the end of the year - FAZ

Ukraine can win, but any delay in support from Germany and others will make that victory "harder and more expensive."
Ukraine may lose "significant territories" by the end of the year. This was reported by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung(FAZ).
It is reported that German MPs allegedly received a forecast from Western intelligence services about what to expect on the front in the near future and it is disappointing.
In particular, the intelligence believes. that Ukraine this year will not be able to seize the initiative and go on the offensive. The document says that the Russian Federation has a large number of weapons and does not consider human casualties.
Ukraine is trying to save the military and, having ceded territory, to gain the time it needs to mobilise and restore the military-industrial complex," the material says.
However, some politicians were sceptical about the document. Thus, the Deputy Chairman of the Bundestag's Special Services Control Committee, representative of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) Roderich Kiesewetter told reporters that Ukraine has problems with ammunition and mobilisation, but stressed that these are surmountable difficulties. In his opinion, pessimistic reports are being circulated to "hint that the situation is hopeless and military support no longer provides anything".
The goal of such reports is to quietly but brutally force Kiev to cede territory," he said.
Kiesewetter emphasised that Ukraine has chances to win the war, but stressed that it is difficult to do so without the help of the West, especially when allies are too slow to help.
At the same time, German Social Democratic Party MP Ralf Stegner, also a member of the committee, said that the services' assessment "corresponds to what he knows".
