On August 1, the state information platform "Children of War" began its work, which will help parents and law enforcement agencies collect information about children who suffered during the war, who, in particular, went missing or were illegally deported to Russia

" Children of War" is a single platform that provides up-to-date and consolidated information about the children who suffered as a result of the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (dead, wounded, missing, deported) and those who were found and rescued. Quantitative indicators are updated daily by the relevant government agencies.

Thanks to the platform, you can report:

  • about a missing child
  • about a crime committed against a minor;
  • upon detection of a child unaccompanied by adults;
  • about the fact of deportation;
  • on forced change of citizenship and documents;
  • about other violations of children's rights during the war.
  • Applications registered on the fact of any violation of the rights and freedoms of the child are automatically received and processed by the relevant departments.

Since February 24, since the beginning of Russian aggression in Ukraine, 358 children have been killed and 693 injured, another 203 children have gone missing, and 5,754 have been deported. 47 children were returned with the participation of the Ministry of Reintegration, - says Oleksandr Smirnov, director of the state enterprise "Ukrainian National Center for Peace Development", which performs the functions of the National Information Bureau. – By creating this portal, we also want to involve the public in the search for children, centralize and greatly facilitate the reporting of the disappearance or discovery of the whereabouts of a child. The issue of protecting children and returning them to Ukraine is one of our tasks. State bodies take all necessary measures to record cases of deportation or forced displacement or resettlement of children, Ukraine actively cooperates with international organizations and partners. The joint portal "Children of War" created by us allows you to quickly and purposefully collect the necessary data that help identify the child, track his whereabouts and, as a result, return him to Ukraine. In addition, such information will contribute to the formation of an evidence base and bringing the perpetrators to criminal and other types of international legal responsibility.

The platform was created on behalf of the President of Ukraine by the National Information Bureau together with the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, the Office of the Prosecutor General, the National Police and the Adviser-President of Ukraine on the Rights of the Child and Child Rehabilitation.
