Ukraine found itself next to Palestine in terms of unemployment.

The unemployment rate has increased in Ukraine. 21 per cent of the country's population remains unemployed. This is what Slovo i dilo wrote with reference to the NBU data for 2022.

It is pointed out that this figure can be perceived as "comforting", as experts predicted that more than a quarter of the country's population would remain unemployed. The National Bank notes that if the economy starts to recover, the unemployed will be about 19% by the end of the year.

However, the unemployment rate will remain higher than before the full-scale invasion, due to the persistence of significant imbalances in the labour market. This, in particular, will be explained by uneven economic recovery in sectors and regions due to the consequences of the war," the NBU explained.

Analysts also compare the unemployment rate by country. The worst employment situation is in South Africa - the official unemployment rate in the country is 32.6 per cent.
