Trump gave his assessment of his conversation with Zelensky

The US president promised that the USA would continue to help Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump has said that the USA will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine, but the issue of ending the war remains extremely complicated. He said these words after talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday, 4 July.
We had a productive conversation. We discussed a lot of issues... I think it was a strategically important dialogue," Trump told reporters aboard the presidential plane Air Force One.
Trump assured that the US is already helping Ukraine and will continue to provide this support. Asked about possible deliveries of missiles for Patriot systems, the US leader said, "They need them for their defence. I don't want people to keep getting killed."
He also recalled his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
It's a pretty confusing situation. We'll see how it develops. I've said before that I was extremely disappointed with my conversation with 'President' Putin. He seems determined to go all the way by continuing to kill people. That's a terrible thing to say. I was very displeased," Trump noted.
In addition, the US president revealed that he discussed sanctions against Russia with Putin.
We talk a lot about sanctions ... He's obviously not happy about it, but, you know, he can deal with it, although the sanctions are quite painful," he added.
Trump again pointed out his stance on the situation in Ukraine, noting that it was Biden's "deal," not his.
It's not my deal. I'm just trying to finalise it and settle it. And beyond that, we'll see. I do not know whether it will happen, but of course I would like it to happen," the US president concluded.
