They were shot by the occupants: two volunteers disappeared in Volchansk

This was reported by the head of Kharkiv Region's investigative police, Serhiy Bolvinov.

According to him, the volunteers were to evacuate the family from Volchansk in their own cars. However, they did not have time to reach their destination - they disappeared.

We are already investigating this case, and unfortunately, according to preliminary information and data from witnesses, the boys were shot by the Russian military. One of them is probably wounded, the second - did not survive, - said Sergei Bolvinov.

The volunteers disappeared on 10 May, when mass shelling started in the city and many people decided to evacuate. Tamaz Gambarashvili, head of the Volchansk city administration, told Suspilny.

According to him, the volunteers went to Volchansk on their own without warning the police or the city council about their intention. The head of the MVA noted that it was very dangerous to go to the northern part of the city at that time.

The disappearance of the two people was reported by a public organisation that sent volunteers.

As far as I know, they were volunteers from the Kiev region who wanted to help with the evacuation of the population in Volchansk and drove into the city for evacuation or other humanitarian purpose. But they were not coordinated," Oleg Ivanov, head of the evacuation department of the coordination humanitarian centre, told Suspilnyy.

According to him, colleagues of the missing volunteers wanted to go to the search, but they were refused.

The head of the MVA urged all volunteers and those willing to help to coordinate their actions with the police, the administration or the coordination centre.
