The Verkhovna Rada appointed a new head of the NBU — Andriy Pyshny

Before that, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy recommended supporting the appointment of Pyshny to the post of head of the National Bank.

Pyshny has been working in the banking system for 16 years. From 2003 to 2007, he was the first deputy chairman of the board of Oschadbank, and in 2014 he returned to Oschadbank as chairman of the board until 2020. In 2022, he became an adviser to the new head of Oschadbank.

It is worth recalling that on October 4, 2022, the head of the National Bank, Kirill Shevchenko, resigned “for health-related reasons that he can no longer ignore,” and on October 6, the Verkhovna Rada supported his dismissal.
