The State Service of Ukraine on State Security Service of Ukraine said whether the Russian Federation can go on the offensive in Sumshchyna

The Russians keep their units near the border with Sumy region.
Russia is amassing its forces near the borders of Sumy Region. At the same time, the soldiers who are already at Ukraine's borders are not enough to make a breakthrough deep into the country. A representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, said this on air during a telethon.
At the same time, he noted that no scenario should be ruled out.
Demchenko stressed that the length of the Ukrainian-Russian border in Sumy region is more than 560 kilometres and it is difficult to respond to all provocations in time.
But, of course, the enemy still keeps certain of its units, forces and means in these directions. We cannot rule out that the enemy continues to build up its forces in these directions. We must be ready for the development of any situation," he said.
Demchenko did not rule out that the Russian Federation would try to make a breakthrough in the north and create hot spots on the line of contact.
To create such zones where full-scale hostilities are conducted in order to stretch the Defence Forces of our state, including in this direction. But, fortunately, what we record, even despite the forces that the enemy now has, they are not enough to achieve such a strategic goal," Demchenko said.
He added that the main goal of the Russians' offensive in Sumshchyna could be panic and fear, which they are trying to sow among Ukrainians.
