- The best remedies and procedures against cellulite: what doctors recommend

A dermatologist explained how to effectively reduce cellulite at home and in the clinic.
Summer is the time of open outfits, swimming costumes and shorts, which means increased attention to the condition of the skin. For many women, this is the period when cellulite becomes more noticeable. According to ELLE, it is impossible to get rid of cellulite completely, but you can significantly reduce its severity with the help of proper care, habits and procedures.
What is cellulite
According to New York dermatologist Dandy Engelman, cellulite is a harmless skin condition that occurs when the fat cells underneath press on the connective tissue, causing characteristic dimples. It appears most often on the hips, buttocks and thighs, and less often on the abdomen and arms. Women are more prone to it because of the distribution of fat and the structure of connective tissue. Its expression is influenced by hormones, age, genetics and lifestyle.
Is it possible to get rid of cellulite forever
The short answer is no. Engelman explains: treatment can only minimise the manifestations. The effect is given by a combination of care, lifestyle and, if necessary, clinical procedures. However, it is important to realise that no single remedy will provide permanent results, so regular support is necessary.
Active ingredients against cellulite
The most effective ingredients in cosmetics are those that improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation and increase skin elasticity:
Caffeine - temporarily tightens the skin and improves microcirculation.
Retinol - stimulates collagen production, thickens the skin and makes irregularities less noticeable.
Peptides - promotes collagen and elastin synthesis.
Centella asiatica extract - improves microcirculation and supports connective tissue.
Arnica - has anti-inflammatory properties, especially effective after massage.
Best care practices
For maximum effect, cosmetics should be combined with other measures:
regular massage or the use of rollers to stimulate blood flow and lymphatic drainage;
maintaining water balance for skin elasticity;
strength training to improve muscle tone;
dry brush massage to exfoliate and improve microcirculation;
a balanced, anti-inflammatory diet minimising sugar and processed foods.
When to consult a specialist
For pronounced results, Engelman recommends hardware methods such as EMTONE, an FDA-approved procedure that combines pressure and radiofrequency radiation. It stimulates circulation, breaks down fibrotic septa and improves fluid outflow, smoothing skin texture without surgery or recovery.
