The AFU will hit Russia with ballistics as early as 2025: what experts say

Ukrainian ballistic missiles can be used to strike Russian military facilities as early as 2025, Valentyn Badrak, director of the Centre for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Studies, has expressed confidence in an interview with UNIAN. He emphasised that Ukraine needs foreign, in particular US technologies for missile reinforcement, as ready-made solutions are already available, such as those used in ATACMS missiles. According to him, the USA is ready to share such technologies, as they are no longer the latest developments.

The expert also noted that although the ballistic missile development programme in Ukraine is gradually developing, the process is hampered by administrative problems. Badrak expressed the opinion that in order to speed up work on missiles, it is necessary to change the management at the Yuzhnoye design office, which employs a highly qualified team of engineers but has significant shortcomings in management. He suggested that the missile programme should be transferred from the Ministry of Strategic Industry to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence for better coordination, especially through the deputy minister for missile projects.

For its part, the US, as noted by Sabrina Singh, deputy spokeswoman for the Ministry of Defence, has no plans to limit the use of the weapons provided to Ukraine even if North Korea joins the conflict on Russia's side. This will allow the Ukrainian military to continue using the received weapons in case of a threat from DPRK troops.
