Prices of rehabilitation equipment for people with disabilities have risen by 27.5%

This is reported by the Ministry of Social Policy.

As noted, every Ukrainian in need has the right to receive such rehabilitation equipment free of charge. The marginal cost, which is covered at public expense, is determined separately for each individual item and is approved by an order of the Ministry of Social Policy.

To provide citizens with quality rehabilitation equipment, particularly prosthetic devices, the Ministry of Social Policy has increased all marginal prices of rehabilitation products for persons with disabilities by 27.5 per cent. The provision of quality prosthetic devices has a direct impact on the speed and extent of restoration of functionality of a person and his/her return to active life - said the Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych.

Military personnel as well as employees of law enforcement agencies still have the right to be provided with high-functioning prostheses - the state covers them at three times the cost of the maximum limit.
