Buckwheat has been on a significant price increase for several years now.
Financial and economic observer Bohdan Slutsky believes that the cost of buckwheat in Ukraine will continue to grow further, writes Today.ua .
He noted that the process of a rise in the price of the product was outlined even before the war, since the area under cultivation was reduced. Russia's invasion of Ukraine only exacerbated the problem and pushed prices for the product to rise. Slutsky believes that very soon buckwheat can cost 100 UAH. per kg.
Farmers have always preferred other grains, from which it was possible to squeeze out big profits. That is, in addition to its own buckwheat, the Ukrainian market also met the needs of the population through imports. Previously, buckwheat came to us regularly (from Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus). For now, Ukraine is left alone with its "buckwheat" problems," the economist says.
According to him, this year Ukraine will be able to harvest only about 20,000 tons of buckwheat with a need of at least 100,000 tons.
Such a huge deficit (more than 80 thousand tons) is nowhere to be imported. Therefore, given the high demand for it and the low supply, prices will continue to rise ... and in the near future we will see price tags of more than 100 hryvnia per kilogram , - Slutsky predicts.
Buckwheat helps cleanse the body of harmful substances, has an antioxidant effect, increases the body's resistance. B vitamins, phospholipids, amino acids methionine, arginine and threonine improve lipid metabolism and prevent the formation of body fat.
Buckwheat is useful for patients with diabetes, problems of the pancreas and gastrointestinal tract. It cleanses the liver of toxins and toxins, prevents the development of fatty liver and cirrhosis.
