US concerned that Russia may use chemical weapons in Ukraine

The US admits that the aggressor Russia could use chemical weapons in Ukraine if Russian troops continue to lose out.

Politico, citing six anonymous knowledgeable sources wrote:

The US has no indication that a confrontation with NATO is imminent, with many Pentagon officials believing that fighting will "stall in winter and neither side will be able to seize much territory.

Some Politico sources believe that the Russian Federation could use chemical weapons, including those used to poison Alexei Navalny, if combat losses continue or the Russian army collapses completely.

Thus one of the publication's sources stated:

Moscow could use chemicals whose effects could be easily concealed, making it difficult for Western countries to hold Moscow accountable.

"Politico reports that this assessment by some US officials is pushing the Biden administration to prepare for a potential Russian chemical attack.

It also claims that senior US officials are also pushing for a review of the US approach to both preparing for and responding to a potential chemical weapons attack.
