Media: Russian army to add 400,000 new contract servicemen


On 1 April, the Russian Defence Ministry will start a new recruitment of contract servicemen into the Russian army, with plans to add 400,000 recruits to the army.
This was reported by the Russian service of Radio Liberty.
"Radio Liberty reports:
several Russian regional media outlets at once publish the total number of contract servicemen to be added to the Russian army. There are plans to recruit 400,000 contract servicemen.
It is known that military commissariats will do most of the work and governors will be in charge of implementation of the plan.
Journalists also noted that the Defense Ministry had sent documents to the regions specifying the number of people to sign contracts with.
"Radio Liberty confirmed that 10,000 people were to be recruited for professional service in the Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk Regions and 9,000 in the Perm Region.
