Satellites detected the fire at the air defence range.

Journalists of Scheme have published satellite images of Planet Labs. The images show the aftermath of a fire at an air defence range west of an airfield in the city of Yeisk in Russia's Krasnodar Region. That is where a drone attack on the airfield was reported a few days ago.

It is not yet known whether the airfield at Yeisk was directly affected.

However, journalists have revealed exactly which aircraft were previously stationed at the airfield. For example, in the eastern part of the airfield there were two MiG-29 fighters, two Tu-134 passenger fighters, six Su-34 or Su-37 fighters, two transport An-72s and one Il-38. In addition, there were three Il-38s, one An-72, three Su-27s, an Il-62 and three transport An-24 or An-26.

After news of the explosions at the airfield, local authorities said it was a "military tactical exercise".
