SBU detains tiktoker recidivist who showed the work of air defence in Odessa

The SBU has unmasked an attacker who illegally spread information about a massive Russian air attack on Odessa on the night of 5 November this year. This is reported by the SBU.

The defendant filmed on a mobile phone camera the work of the Ukrainian air defence and posted the corresponding videos on his own page in the social network Tik-Tok. In the description he indicated the exact time and place of shooting. In a matter of minutes, the information got into the recommendations of many users of the social network, among whom were representatives of the special services of the Russian Federation.

The information obtained in this way could be used by the occupants to adjust repeated strikes on the city with the use of missile weapons and drones such as Shahed", - stated in the message.

SBU officers established the identity and location of the figure and detained him. The attacker turned out to be a 35-year-old Odessa resident, who had previously served a sentence for theft and robbery.

The SBU investigators informed the detainee of suspicion under part 2 of article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (dissemination of information about the movement, movement or location of the AFU or other military formations).

The issue of selecting a preventive measure for him - detention in custody - is being resolved. The investigation is continuing to establish all the circumstances of the offence. The perpetrator faces up to 8 years in prison.
