The security service prevented the transfer to Russia of classified information about Ukraine's international military-technical cooperation with Western countries.

The Security Service of Ukraine reported this reported by the Security Service Ukraine.

The operative detained a Russian agent collecting intelligence on the purchase and supply of foreign weapons and ammunition to Ukraine.

He was interested in secret information about imported military equipment for the needs of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Further, the invaders planned to use this information to strike at critical infrastructure.

The agent was a resident of Kyiv who positioned himself as a military expert. A Russian special services career officer recruited him to conduct surveillance and subversive activities in the capital.

To collect classified information, he used personal connections, including among representatives of the domestic military-industrial complex.

The Kyiv citizen was informed of suspicion of high treason, after which the court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of 15 years or life with confiscation of property.
