The SBU has detained an FSB agent who was preparing air strikes on Ukrzaliznytsya facilities in Vinnytsia Region.
TheSBU has unmasked an FSB agent who was involved in the preparation of Russian air attacks on transport and energy infrastructure in Vinnytsya Region. This is reported by the SBU.
He scouted the locations of railway hubs, which may have been used to transport heavy weapons and ammunition of the AFU in the direction of the front line.
The attacker also tried to determine the location of key electrical substations in the region and obtain information about their technical condition.
The received intelligence data was to be transmitted to his "curator" from the FSB via an anonymous mailbox. "The 'report' included exact coordinates and photos of Ukrainian facilities with georeferencing and text explanations," the SBU said.
According to the figure, the occupiers planned strikes on critical infrastructure in the region using missile weapons and kamikaze drones.
In case of success of the enemy operation, the Russian special service "guaranteed" its agent a cash reward of 100 thousand rubles.
The SBU officers detained the agent at the stage of gathering intelligence for transferring it to the occupants.
According to the investigation, the detainee is a 57-year-old resident of Khmelnitsky district, which the Russian intelligence service remotely recruited in May this year," the report said.
During the search, a mobile phone, which he used to correspond with the aggressor, was seized from the defendant.
Based on the collected evidence, the investigators of the security service reported the detainee on suspicion under part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
Now he is in custody. The investigation is ongoing. The attacker faces life imprisonment.
