Putin's forces have seized nearly 235 square kilometres in the last week.
Russian troops are moving deeper into Ukrainian territory. Over the past week, the invaders have managed to occupy a record large territory. This is reported by Reuters.
The front line of more than 1,000 kilometres remained largely static for two years. However, recently the Russian aggressors have begun to actively advance and have seized hundreds of square kilometres of Ukrainian territory," the agency points out.
As Reuters notes, Russian forces occupied 600 square kilometres during November 2024.
The most brutal fighting is taking place in Donetsk region.
In Donetsk region, the invaders are advancing towards the towns of Pokrovsk and Kurakhovo. The Russians surround the territory and then bombard the Ukrainian forces with artillery and guided bombs, thus pushing the defenders deep into the territory," journalists point out, citing experts.
The occupiers are also trying to advance in Zaporizhzhya and Kharkiv regions.
